BUSBY HALL, NORTH YORKSHIRE
Grade II Listed Busby Hall benefits from new oil condensing boilers despite buildings restrictions. Atlantic Boilers have installed two oil condensing boilers in a Grade II* listed building in North Yorkshire. Two R22/150 (range 95.3kW to 153kW) R Series Oil Condensing Boilers were selected for Busby Hall, near Stokesley, for the owner, Mr David Marwood, by Heating Design Services Consulting Engineers, of York.
The boilers were chosen to fit within the restrictions of an important listed building and this included off-loading and positioning by Atlantic Boilers within the restricted boiler space, plus the use of balanced flues to avoid impingement on the building structure. The complete space heating and domestic hot water system was carried out by Jaydee Heating Ltd of Morley and Dundee.
With all the concern over energy conservation, it should now be the case that all boilers specified today are at least 92% efficient. ATLANTIC's range of condensing boilers (rated from 7kW to 535kW) use outside air for combustion air. As a result the whole annual space heating energy (and any other energy requirement) will be met by a boiler efficiency of greater than 92% and up to 99%. This will save up to 40% over conventional modern boilers, and up to 20% over conventional condensing boilers.
Any additional boiler costs will be offset by savings in fuel over a period of just 18 months to two years. After that time, the savings go on and on. In addition, the R Series condensing boilers flue gas temperatures are ALWAYS below 50°C and so low cost plastic flues can make major savings.
